This session, Understanding the Caregiver Process for Families Dealing with Alzheimer's, will explore some of the things you most need to put in place to help you and your loved ones as well as caregiving resources available. Where do you find support after the difficult diagnosis? What are smart strategies for care planning and building support? How do you prepare for doctor visits? Veterans and their caregivers are invited to join us for a coffee break! Enjoy guest speakers, education, conversation and, of course, a great cup of coffee. On the 1st Tuesday of every month Caregivers are invited to join, come together or by yourself. After education we will break into a caregiver group and a Veteran group for further discussion, and more coffee. No registration required. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Caregiver Support Program (CSP) is moving forward in its commitment to reach every caregiver of a Veteran in need of support and is continuing to host Caregiver and Family Resource Fairs at every VA facility across the country. Through resource fairs, caregivers and families of Veterans can access information about support, services, and resources targeted to help them and the Veterans in their lives. The information provided is tailored to meet the specific needs of caregivers, with topics ranging from VA services to support available through organizations within the caregivers’ local communities.
