MEDICARE PT D OPEN ENROLLMENT

The annual open enrollment period for Medicare is October 15 through December 7.

Medicare Part D helps people with Medicare pay for prescription drugs. Eighty percent of the approved cost of your prescription drugs are covered by Medicare, the remaining 20 percent is
your responsibility. The Part D Insurance Plan assists you with the 20 percent.

If you have Medicare Advantage Supplemental Insurance, (including eye care, dental care, hearing, etc.), your Prescription Drug coverage is generally included – you do not need an additional
plan.

If you have a Supplemental Insurance plan (not an Advantage plan) for example Blue Cross/Blue Shield, you will need a Medicare Part D Drug Plan.

Irene Rankin and Kim Lee, can explain and sign you up for Medicare Part D Insurance Plan. They cannot change, sign you up, negotiate, or explain your Supplemental Insurance; you will need to
contact your insurance agent or the North Dakota State Health Insurance Counseling (SHIC) 701-328-2440 or 1-800-574-6611.

Please bring the following documents with you to your appointment:
-A list of your medications, including dosages and frequency.
-Your Medicare card.
-Your Medicare Part D prescription drug plan card and your ‘yellow’ ID card (if you have one).
