Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with AARP and the Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklórico through Crafty Thursdays, a virtual cultural series that brings the traditions, creativity and heritage of Latin America to life. Through hands-on crafts, engaging presentations and cultural storytelling, participants will explore the unique customs, art and traditions of Latin America.
Each session highlights a different country and a craft inspired by its culture, including colorful Papel Picado from Mexico, a Colombian Toucan, Puerto Rico’s beloved Coquí, Chile’s iconic Moai, and a Dominican Republic Palm Tree. Along the way, participants will learn about the history, culture and traditions that make each country unique.
This session will focus on the Dominican Republic and its beautiful Palm Tree.
