Dakota Home Care has great people to work with — they are experienced. They have been there for anything we are in need of. The caregivers relate very well to their clients and they have been able to make switches when necessary and are very accommodating. They are great communicators that lead to great care.
I used Dakota Home Care when I had surgery. The nurse came home with me when I got back and then she came the next morning. I liked that she came home with me and set up the IV and she was very caring and personable. One thing she did well was set everything up nicely and made sure I could contact her at any time. I appreciated that she was so caring.
Dakota Home Care has great staff who can relate well with my mom. They can get her to shower when she doesn’t want to and she enjoys it when they are here.
"The caregivers at Dakota Home Care are so warm, conversational and willing to help with anything we ask. Dad is eager to teach them some games he enjoys playing and so when they don’t have a task to complete, they enjoy spending time playing games, watching tv or just visiting. Dad even taught his caregiver how to bake a cake so this helps keep him active as well as doing something he enjoys. Dad’s apartment looks so nice as each caregiver has tackled our suggestion of tasks whole heartedly and it has truly given our family some relief. It is nice having the caregivers checking to make sure he is drinking his water, taking his medications, doing exercises and mainly staying awake during the shifts. This enables dad to sleep less during the day because he isn’t bored or lonesome and consequently has a better nighttime sleep pattern.
All in all, I believe this is a great service and it provides him the assistance he needs. We are so grateful for Dakota Home Care’s staff who bring some joy to dad’s life."
"When searching for a home care agency, Dakota Home Care provided very thorough information. From the onset of services, staff have been knowledgeable, professional, dedicated to meeting Mom’s needs and have provided excellent communication with family and the facility staff.
Since I live several hours away, I find the electronic care log to be a wonderful way to stay up to date about who her caregivers are and the daily care they are providing. It is very reassuring that Mom is in good hands. I also receive weekly email updates and have an easy way to ask questions or provide information as needs change.
During this challenging time, Dakota Home Care quickly adapted scheduling to meet the changing facility rules, making a seamless transition. I’ve relied on Dakota Home Care to purchase groceries, and appreciated their suggestions for adaptive equipment, supplies, additional clothing or more talking books.
I’ve talked with individual caregivers during phone calls with Mom, sometimes asking questions related to her needs or to tell them where additional supplies are located in the apartment. It is obvious they are caring people, are making sure Mom’s needs are being met, and are interested in her as a person. I’m very impressed with the teamwork provided by Dakota Home Care and the quality of care Mom is receiving."
